Cabinet discusses Egypt’s invitation for Pezeshkian to attend Sharm El-Sheikh Conference

The meeting included a report from Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who detailed Egypt’s official invitation, the subsequent refusal by Iran, and the invitation extended to the foreign minister instead.

The foreign minister reported on the diplomatic developments, marking an important moment in Iran’s foreign relations, particularly with Egypt.

During the 118th cabinet meeting of the Pezeshkian administration, several key issues were addressed, including the challenges faced by various ministries and the approval of several executive regulations. Notably, the Foreign Ministry’s proposal to authorize the preliminary signing and temporary endorsement of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime was approved. 

This convention aims to enhance international cooperation in combating specific crimes committed through information and communication technology systems and to facilitate the electronic sharing of evidence related to serious crimes.
