Iran Condemns U.S. Pressure on Its UN Mission in New York

According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, In response to ongoing U.S. actions against the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, Iran’s Foreign Ministry published a statement on its official account, strongly criticizing Washington’s policies.
The statement said that military aggression against Iran, cooperation with what it called a “genocidal regime” in the killing of Iranian citizens, the imposition of illegal sanctions, and the misuse of the UN hosting privilege are all part of the same pattern, which it described as a blatant disregard by the U.S. government for humanitarian and moral principles, international law, and the UN Charter.
The ministry added that efforts by the U.S. State Department to portray these actions under the “hypocritical” guise of concern for the Iranian people are deceptive and disgraceful.
According to the statement, illegal sanctions against the Iranian population and unlawful restrictions imposed on Iranian representatives at the United Nations directly violate fundamental human rights and diplomatic norms.
The Foreign Ministry said the conduct demonstrates the exploitation of the UN host country position as a tool of “bullying foreign policy” aimed at intimidating member states by targeting their diplomatic representatives.
It stressed that compliance with UN host country obligations is not an act of goodwill but a binding legal duty under the 1946 Headquarters Agreement.
