Iran Summons Polish Envoy Over ‘Anti-Iran Show’ in UK Parliament – Politics news
Sikorski, during a trip to London on Tuesday, presented the UK Parliament with an Iranian-made drone, alleging it was being used by Russia in the war in Ukraine and urging continued Western support for Kiev.
Marcin Wilczek, head of Poland’s representative office in Tehran, was summoned on Thursday by Mahmoud Heidari, assistant to Iran’s foreign minister and director general for Mediterranean and Eastern European affairs.
Heidari condemned Sikorski’s participation in an “anti-Iran show” orchestrated in the UK Parliament, rejecting the minister’s “meddlesome” and “false” statements.
He expressed regret over the repetition of politically driven, clichéd accusations and firmly conveyed Tehran’s protest to the Polish envoy.
Wilczek said Poland values its diplomatic relations with Iran and pledged to urgently relay Tehran’s message to Warsaw.
Tehran and Moscow have consistently denied Western allegations that Iran has provided Russia with drones, missiles, or military technology for use in the conflict in Ukraine, calling such accusations a campaign of misinformation aimed at undermining Iran’s independence and regional standing.
