Araghchi meets counterparts from Mozambique, Mali in Kampala
During meeting with Mozambique’s Foreign Minister Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas, the two top diplomats discussed bilateral relations, regional and international developments, and expressed their countries’ readiness to enhance contacts at various levels to expand cooperation.
Both sides also exchanged views on key issues on the NAM agenda, particularly the need for greater cooperation and solidarity among Global South countries to effectively confront unilateralism and repeated violations of international law, as well as the situation in occupied Palestine.
During the meeting with Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on Iran-Mali bilateral relations and discussed ways to expand economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The two foreign ministers decided to hold a meeting of the joint economic commission of the two countries at the earliest possible opportunity.
They also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries at the level of the United Nations and other international institutions.
The importance of promoting solidarity and cooperation among the member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement to protect the rights and interests of the global South, the issue of Palestine, and Iran-Africa cooperation were among the topics raised in the meeting.
