Palestinians Live Under Shadow of Renewed Israeli Assault despite Ceasefire – World news
Israeli occupation forces carried out new strikes on Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, killing one man in the Bureij refugee camp and two others in separate attacks in the north and south of the territory.
In one of the latest assaults, Israeli forces targeted a tent sheltering a displaced Palestinian in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis.
Residents said the site struck was outside the so-called “yellow line” — an arbitrary boundary drawn by the Israeli regime to mark areas under its military control.
Since the ceasefire began, Israeli forces have killed at least 241 Palestinians, often claiming without evidence that victims had crossed the “yellow line.”
Locals rejected those justifications, saying the man killed in Bani Suheila was nowhere near Israeli-controlled territory. His body was taken to Nasser Hospital.
Such ongoing violations have left Palestinians convinced that the truce is meaningless.
Armed drones still hover constantly above Gaza’s skies, while explosions continue as Israeli forces demolish homes and farmland beyond the yellow line.
Witnesses reported fresh Israeli shelling east of Khan Younis in the south and Jabalia in the north.
Reports from the ground confirmed Israeli artillery fire hitting civilian areas as the regime maintains pressure on the battered enclave.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said one person was killed and five others wounded in the past 24 hours due to Israeli strikes.
It also reported that six more bodies were recovered from the ruins, but many victims remain trapped under the rubble as rescue teams cannot reach them amid the bombardment.
Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 241 Palestinians have been killed and 619 injured.
The overall death toll from Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has climbed to 69,176, with 170,690 wounded — the vast majority women and children — as the Israeli regime continues its campaign of destruction under the guise of security.
